Haider Shaghati is an ICSVE research fellow with an interest in strategic security studies with a concentration on counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency. Haider completed his MA in Strategic Security Studies at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Grand Canyon University of Arizona. Haider previously worked in Iraq in the Bureau of Counterterrorism as an intelligence analyst and in the Ministry of National Security in Baghdad, Iraq. He joins the ICSVE team testing the Breaking the ISIS Brand Counter Narrative videos with Arabic country origin diaspora and student populations in the Washington, D.C. area and is assisting in ICSVE’s partnerships in Iraq. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
